Speak up.
timer Published Date:29th Sep, 2020

Maybe it’s because we don’t talk about it so openly, is the reason why no lights are shined on this, more silenced it is becoming, more the damage it is creating. But do we even care? Do we care that women and children and even men are being molested, raped and harassed every day, they are the same people, same people who make our present and future altogether, but they are now so broken to even look at their own reflection? What would you feel? And how? If something like that would happen to you? Makes you feel angry? Painful? Or disgusted over a mankind who couldn’t learn to respect after all these million years of existence. But that’s a plain reality of our world, we can’t say that we are safe without having a little bit of doubt because no one is. No one is safe. You can’t let your children play outside nowadays, because you don’t know who might abduct them and next day you’ll find their body behind the bushes, lifeless and cold. You never know, that your bestfriend might be getting bullied in her school, her pictures all over the internet, that led her to take her life, overdosed on pills and depression. You meet your sister the other day, she says she is fine, but you will not have the slightest hint that she isn’t, for marital rape is totally okay. How her soul is barred open every night, to conceal it will a smile the next time she visits you. And my heart goes for a boy who is scared every time his mom’s friend comes to tutor him, she doesn’t only bring him chocolate but also her hand touching him inappropriately. So it’s very important that we speak up, if not now then when? Are you waiting for another dead body? For another crushed self-esteem? Or waiting it to happen to yourself to contemplate the intensity of how it is breaking us, our families, and societies apart. People are losing faith on fellow people because we are unsure whom to trust. Because a girl was raped by her grandfather, someone one was assaulted in the parking lot, and someone poured acid to satisfy their pride. Gratefully 2012 didn’t happen, but doesn’t this feels worse than a world coming to an end. Human losing their god damn senses and commmiting sins like they are having their usual morning coffee at 7 am, which is far beyond acceptable. Let’s talk justice, for we all deserve peace, a life without fear. Let’s make our voices so strong that these walls would shake, let’s make a world safer for us and the coming generation to survive. Let’s just speak up, before another news headlines, before another person gets killed before someone gets raped and before it gets too late.
