Querencia
timer Published Date:2nd Oct, 2020

Fluorescent light in the evening,

And her creeping sadness draped
around her shoulder.

She was lost, she knew it from the beginning.

A kind of lost, that being found would not requite at all.

And even if you search her below the mountains and past thousand years, you will never reach her.

For she was distant, far far away,

Marching her footsteps in lands that was unheard of.

Melancholy you would say,

But art was all she was made of,

She was varnished everywhere, a saturated arcylic paint,

Vibrantly, effortlessly herself.

So unafraid that she would howl back at wolves that greeded her skin.

She breathed firestrom,

Catastrophic, she was named after it.

Now that she was letting her hair down,

Roaming in wild, she was finally free.

For she belonged to no place, no people,

She was falling in love with her lonliness

and nights that made her closest to the universe.

Slowly it made sense why she was lost,

To be unbounded, to be the wanderer in the wilderness.

The sadness that used to drench her soul,

Only insanity blooms in her pores.

She sewed feathers, tied them in wings,

Then soared over castles, up in the sky,

those clouds would be her happy place.

It was wonderful, how she knew she was always lost.

Only to find herself again and again.

A kind of lost, that makes her believe in magic, in madness and in miracles.

So it is said why you will never reach her,

even if you search her below the mountains and past thousand years.

She was lost, she knew it from the begining.

Distant, she went where the wind took her,

to the land so foreign, there she kept hidden.

Still you’ll keep looking for her in maps, in distances between shores and seas.

But she loved mysteries so much, that she became one so she shall never be found.

She shall never be found.

She was lost, a kind of lost that she was already in love with,

One in which she was finally in peace within

She knew it, she knew it from the very beginning,

That once she found solace in her solitude, she won’t be coming back,

She won’t be coming back.
